It was a rather busy year for us in 2014 which started off with a big bang as our principal photographer, Mr. Ong Min Ho was honoured to be invited to be one of the international guest speaker in Philippines at Photoworld Asia which was held in Makati. It was fun filled with days of sharing images, ideas and meeting up people from all over Asia. Meeting up with who's who of the photography industry in Philippines and more. The icing in the cake was Min Ho is sharing the same platform with the world's no.1 wedding photographer Mr. Denis Reggie talking about weddings. Min Ho shared his experience of shooting weddings since 1982. That's the reaction I have always managed to shoot as the groom usually wasn't expecting this coming. (Then I would have made a pact with the bride and her entourage of bridesmaids and friends) Natural reaction to a statement, a joke tends to lighten things up and the photographer in charge will be able to get the shots that he wanted. Then again, the photographer must of course know when is the appropriate time to click as these moments when repeated, tends to lose its oomph factor. Enjoy! As an actual day photographer, there is always the challenge of doing something out of the ordinary and try to be produce better images for clients and yet, maintain a certain unique qualities that is consistent with the vision of the photographer's style. One of them is the contrasting elements in the photo. To many, it's like yin & yang, black and white, patterns and rhythm. Balance is the key. In an Indian wedding when the couple goes back home after the temple ceremony, the family members will ask the couple for a small "toll" as an inducement for then to unlock and open the door. The amount may not be much actually and the token amount is shared amongst themselves. Sometimes the groom has his own ideas to have fun during these times (The Groom Whisperer a.k.a. The Photographer) also "helps" a bit in the games. The photos will have some form of a nice storyline to share in the future. Our clients at times asked us to fulfill their innermost desires to be able to capture their personality during a studio graduation photoshoot. They wanted something different, something more than the traditional pose of the graduate standing with the scroll and of course, the library backdrop which for umpteen years that has been the main backdrop for most shoot almost everywhere.
